LOS ANGELES, CA — (MARKET WIRE) — 12/24/07 — Music industry veteran and on-air
personality, Jen Meola, recently sat down with socialite, writer and media
maven, Christina Martin:

Q: I want to ask you about some of the celebrities you’ve worked with. What
was it like working with D.B. Sweeney? Thomas Ian Nicholas? Emilio Estevez?
Shaun Toub? Crispin Glover?

A: Every artist is different. One thing I find in common is that I learn a
lot from each of them. D.B. was especially wonderful to work with and he
has a fantastic film on the festival circuit, “Two Tickets To Paradise,”
which he produced, directed and stars with John C. McGinley.

Q: What made you get involved in Clinton’s Presidential campaign?

A: For many reasons, I consider Senator Clinton to be the best person for
the job. At the same time, I also think that being a leader for democracy
around the world, the United States is long overdue to elect our first
female president to office.

Q: What 5 media sources could you not live without?

A: The Daily Show, Bill Maher, The Economist, Forbes and Variety.

Q: Tell me about “The Passenger.”

A: “The Passenger” is a television series in development. Based on my work
with rock bands, the concept arose when Lance Bass’s production company
caught wind of what I was doing with rock radio. The idea for the show is
Spinal Tap meets Almost Famous meets Road Rules in a fast-paced modern
docudrama of today’s hottest touring rock bands.

Q: What rock bands are you good friends with or have you worked with
recently?

A: Wolfmother, Three Days Grace, The Killers, Papa Roach, Breaking
Benjamin, Evan’s Blue, Seether, Mink, Marty Casey Lovehammers, The Exies,
Bullet for My Vallentine, Avenged Sevenfold, Fall Out Boy, Rooney, Red
Jumpsuit Apparatus, Point One, Puddle of Mudd, Hatebreed, Static X,
Behemoth, a lot of others I’m probably forgetting.

Q: Tell me about your writing.

Nicolas Cage, Steve Buscemi and Tracy Morgan will be three of the
lead voices in “G-Force,” for Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry
Bruckheimer Films.

Bill Nighy and Will Arnett also have joined the ranks of the human
actors in the live-action/CG film, which marks the directorial
debut of Oscar-winning visual effects innovator Hoyt Yeatman.

The story follows a group of ultra-intelligent animal commandoes
who work for a government agency trying to prevent an evil
billionaire from taking over the world. Cage will play Speckles, a
mole; Buscemi will portray Bucky, a hamster; and Morgan will voice
Blaster, a guinea pig. Nighy will portray an industrialist, and
Arnett will play an FBI agent.

Live-action leads also include Zach Galifianakis, Kelli Garner,
Gabriel Casseus and Jack Conley.

Production is currently under way in Los Angeles. Jerry Bruckheimer
is producing. Executive producing are Bruckheimer Films’ Mike
Stenson and Chad Oman, along with Duncan Henderson.

“It’s a good story; it’s unique characters, it’s half animation,
half live action,” Bruckheimer told The Hollywood Reporter. “It
falls right into the Disney family of films — the kind of films we
make, like ‘National Treasure,’ which entertain everybody from the
smallest kid to the oldest grandparent.”

Yeatman — who won an Academy Award for visual effects on “The
Abyss,” as well as a Technical Achievment Award — is “a visual
effects genius, and he has worked on a number of our movies in the
past,” Bruckheimer said. “(Yeatman) came up with this idea with his
son, believe it or not. We developed the screenplay. … Now we are
filming. It’s pretty exciting for him — it’s his first time
(directing) — and it’s exciting for us to get into a whole new
medium.”

Less than four years after she became grist for the gossip mill by dating Ben Affleck, Enza Sambataro says she can’t remember much about the experience.”It feels like a long time ago, and a lot of the firsthand emotions are gone,” she says. “It ended because I really didn’t want to get caught up in that whole scene.”If she was intent on avoiding the spotlight, she hasn’t succeeded. Sambataro is now engaged to Kevin Youkilis, the Red Sox first baseman whose public profile, at least in New England, is on par with any Hollywood actor’s. She is also CEO of his foundation, Hits for Kids, which last month raised more than $360,000 at an event at Mohegan Sun.The wedding will be Sambataro’s second since her five-month fling with Affleck ended in 2004. She was briefly married to a South Shore car dealer with whom she had a child.”He wasn’t what I’d call marriage material,” says Sambataro, 29, cuddling with her son, Mikey, while he watches “Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks” in their Auburndale apartment. “Kevin is a really good person, and he’s great with Mikey. . . . He’s like insta-dad.”As excited as she is about their engagement - the couple has yet to set a date - Sambataro has misgivings about becoming the wife of a Major League Baseball player. Not long ago, a friend gave her a copy of Jessica Canseco’s book “Juicy: Confessions of a Former Baseball Wife,” and she was struck by how familiar it all sounded.”No, Kev and I don’t shoot steroids, and I’m not getting a nose job and Botox injections every two weeks,” Sambataro says. “But it’s true that baseball is 24/7 for most of these guys, and that can be very tiring on a family. There are perks being a player’s wife, but you also make a lot of family sacrifices.”Sambataro has not always …

Nicolas Cage Will Save The World

If you’ve been wondering why there aren’t more movies about commando house pets, Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney have heard your plea. Bruckheimer will produce the absolutely terrible sounding but possibly fantastic movie G-Force about, get this, ultra-intelligent animal commandos who try to keep a madman from taking over the world. Like James Bond, only with guinea pigs and hamsters.

The movie will be a mix of live-action and CG animation with the animals hopefully being the CG part. Some big timers have joined on board to voice the animals, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Nicolas Cage will voice a mole, Steve Buscemi lends his pipes to a hamster, and Tracy Morgan will be a guinea pig. There will also be several human type people involved including Bill Nighy, Will Arnett, Kelli Garner, Zach Galifianakis, Gabriel Casseus, and Jack Conley. If you’re wondering who the hell Zach Galifianakis is, you’re not alone.

This all sounds like a pile of crap on a shingle, but Bruckheimer knows family action entertainment. The script was written by The Wibberleys, who also banged out National Treasure. The first time director is Hoyt Yeatman, who has an Oscar as a visual effects supervisor for The Abyss and most recently worked on Underdog. Bruckheimer says Yeatman came up the story with his son. Hopefully this whole project, which has already started filming, will out better than the other father and son make up a story movie, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl.

ACROSS THE UNIVERSE 2 1/2 stars. Bobbing along on the melodies of 33 re-imagined songs by The Beatles, this long and winding extravaganza from dance maven-turned-moviemaker Julie Taymor is a bizarre counter-culture jukebox musical.
